Becky Keeley
Cellist, music director
Becky Keeley grew up in Pittsburgh, a city with a strong arts and music education community. She studied cello performance at the University of Maryland and then spent the next ten years in the Washington, DC area, where she taught extensively. During that time, her private studio grew to more than 30 students, and she ran the music program at a private school in Virginia. After many years away, she returned home to Pittsburgh to continue teaching and making music.
How did you first start playing with Radiant Strings?
I met Nicole [Radiant Strings founder] in 2017 when we taught together at The Pittsburgh Music Academy, and I was thrilled to play my first wedding with Radiant Strings a few years later in 2022.
What makes Radiant Strings special to you?
There is something special about a Radiant Strings event. Yes, our musicians are all excellent players and always prepared. Our team leaders build relationships with clients, event planners, and venues to ensure that every entrance, kiss, and celebration is timed perfectly to the music. But as soon as we play our first few notes, it’s easy to hear that we truly love what we do — sharing the joy that music brings and getting to do that with our friends.
